EarthCam is a world-leading webcam technology, content, and service that monitors documents and promotes your project with live streaming, time-lapse imaging, and construction cameras. Powered by EarthCam’s Control Center 8 webcam management service, which is delivered as a user-controllable SaaS (Software as a Service) interface, EarthCam’s professional webcam technology is used to view, document, and promote construction projects.

EarthCam values protecting your privacy and maintaining your trust in our services. This Privacy Notice addresses the global privacy regulations applicable to our construction monitoring activities and services.

Scope

This Privacy Notice explains how EarthCam collects, uses, and protects personal data for our Control Center 8 application. It applies to portions of EarthCam’s SaaS product where you engage with our webcam management services, available through our platform at https://cc8.earthcam.net/, and any related software, mobile applications, products, devices, or other services (collectively “EarthCam’s Platform”).

What Is Personal Data

“Personal Data" means any data or information, in any form or medium, that on its own or combined with other data could identify a particular individual or any other data or information that constitutes personal data or personal information under applicable law. Personal Data does not include publicly available information, as defined by applicable law, de-identified information, or aggregated data.

Personal Identifiers: such as name, alias, signature, postal address, phone numbers, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol (IP) address, email address, and account name.

Internet and Network Activity Data (“Usage Data”): such as information required to provide access to EarthCam’s IT systems and networks, including IP addresses, log files, and login information, the type of Web browser you use; device type; your operating system; your web request; your Internet Service Provider and cookies; referring/exit pages and URLs; payload errors, the pages you view and how you interact with links; the time and duration of your visits to the Sites or use of the EarthCam Platform.

Geolocation Data: such as region, country, state, postal code, or other information from your IP address.

Audio, Visual, and Similar Information: such as audio/video recordings

Professional Information: This includes professional or employment-related information such as current employer, office location, and business contact information.


Where We Collect Personal Data

Most often, the personal data we collect about you is collected directly from you. Sometimes, we may collect Personal Data automatically when you engage with Sites, Services, networks, and technology resources. EarthCam may also collect Personal Data through our service providers, as described below.

Information You Provide to Us

EarthCam collects information that personally identifies you and other personal information about you or users whose information you provide to us to authenticate users and to send notifications to those users relating to EarthCam ("Personal Information"). The user's contact information allows the user to utilize EarthCam features, contact the user when necessary, and advise them about new services, products, and/or software upgrades. Users may opt out of receiving future mailings – see the Choice / Opt-Out section below.

Personal Information may include:

  • Your name, contact details, and company.
  • Your username, password, and email when registering for our services.
  • The same information is collected for all users granted access to the platform.
  • Any information a user chooses to upload to the platform or input into their account profile.
  • Any other information a user provides voluntarily through our websites and services.

Information We Collect Automatically

We automatically collect information regarding your actions on our websites and when using our services. Usage data helps us understand trends in our users' needs so that we can better consider new features or otherwise tailor our services.

Unique identifiers are collected to use as account numbers in our record system. We use this data to tailor the user's experience at our websites and display content according to their preferences.

Social Media Widgets

Our websites and services include social media features, such as sharing images/videos to Facebook and Twitter. These features may collect your IP address and which page you are visiting on our website and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly. The social media features are hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our website. The company's privacy statement governs your interactions with these features.

Use of Cookies

EarthCam uses cookies to keep track of your custom-created EarthCam account and its data. We use cookies to deliver content specific to your interests and to save your password so you don't have to re-enter it each time you visit our websites. EarthCam also automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, EarthCam cookie information, and the page you requested. We use your IP address to help identify you, generate our statistic logs, and count the traffic statistics for our websites.

EarthCam uses cookies to store users' preferences and record session information. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit on our websites. You may be able to configure your browser to accept or reject all or some cookies or notify you when a cookie is set (each browser is different, so check your browser's "Help" menu to learn how to change your cookie preferences). Links Outside EarthCam’s Website

Our website contains links to sites. You could be directed to other websites outside our services and control. EarthCam is not responsible for such websites' privacy practices or content. You are responsible for voluntarily disclosing personal information online. This information is accessible to the public and can be collected and used by others. Remember that when you visit a site, it may collect information about you without your knowledge. You should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Remember to be responsible and safe when online.

Choice/OPT-OUT

Our site allows users to opt out of receiving communications from us and our partners when we request information about the user.

The website gives users the option to remove their information from our database not to receive future communications or to no longer receive our services:

1. Users can unsubscribe at the bottom of all EarthCam advisory notices/promotions regarding new services, products, and/or software upgrades.

Reporting Violation

EarthCam allows users to report violations they find on our websites by filling out and submitting the EarthCam Contact Us form.

Correct/Update Users who have submitted

Users with a Control Center account can change and/or modify the information they have previously provided by logging in to their account and editing their information. Users can make all the changes by clicking the Submit or Save button. The new data is updated instantaneously.

Security

EarthCam accounts are secured by user-created passwords. EarthCam takes precautions to ensure that account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect account information stored within our database, and we restrict access to account information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of account information.

Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of account information at any time.

International Data Transfer

Your Personal Information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the country where you reside. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country (and, in some cases, may not be as protective). When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Personal Information, we will delete or anonymize it.
